Thanks for the response noy; I've really enjoyed following your threads on your beautiful sun collection.

The sun at the front has flesh covering all the way down to the rock. I want to give a little background info on the one in the back. It was actually under a mat of green star polys which I got the coral as and was severely malnourished and shrunken with only a little flesh at the crown. I uncovered it accidentally when removing the GSP. The rest of the 'stem' below the flesh is old skeleton. The tentacles on the one in the front look a little bit lighter in colour than the one in the rear so I'm wondering if it's a different species.

The flesh will restore itself. The is a similar looking tubastraea species with long tubes but bare coloured calcium tubes/bodies.

Colour isn't a species differentiator in sun corals generally. Actually give a few months they will probably end up very close in colour.

These are probably one of my favourites - very easy to propagate.
