there are small anemone looking growths on my live rock, can you tell me what they are, and if they are good or bad to have in a tank? Thanks!

i am new to this, and tips are greatly appreciated!!

Depends a pic would be helpful.....There is to much life that can come in on liver rock to say what it is or if they are good to have without a pic....

Those look like some type of Large Polyp Stony coral. The type you have there will not move and most likely do not have long tentacles to harm other tank occupants. You should be perfectly fine.

Those look like Hidden Cup Coral to me. They are non-photosynthetic LPS. They will put out short, transparent tentacles, and they won't hurt anything.

If you want to keep them alive, feed them finely chopped meaty foods a couple of times a week.
