Hello,

I got this for 70$ (pretty cheap around where I live) for this size SPS.

It has been alone in a tank for a while at my lfs. It was under a an LED light that was not set properly and very high from the tank (3 feet). He was just keeping it there cause he had no other place to put it.

So it's pretty banged up and I want to give it a shot. My corals are thriving so it's worth a try. It also got banged up when I put it in the tank (did not know they where this fragile!)

It seems to be purple when I add red light. I think it bleached cause the "deeper" parts of it are really purple.

Any info about it would be good so I can start its regeneration!

Hmmm that seems to be it! Although It does not seem to have grown into "shelves"

I'm guessing this is a pretty old piece then?

Soli's grow in a wide variety of growth patterns, in strong surge in the wild they tend to plate up more, in home reefs and in lagoonal areas of the reef they tend to grow corymbose.

Very commonly mis ID'd as A. valida as people see the brown/ beige base and purple tips and automatically assume its a valida, just goes to show you how important it is not to use coloration to determine species.

For $70 you got a steal, regular addition of iodine can really make the purples pop, but only add fraction of recommened dose unless you test for it.
