Looks like a maxima from that picture, but you need to see more of the shell to tell for sure. Maximas have a more elongate shell. Croceas are a bit more round...
i thought i had a deresa.lfs didnt know what it was. got it for 50 bucks, about 4-5 long
i will take more pics when daytime bulbs are on & try to move so shell can be seen better. should i move up in tank off sand if its a maxama

Deresa's have very smooth shells. I don't think that's what you have. LFS will often name anything brown a deresa. LOL. Here's some pics of what they should look like:
place something under it like an old shell etc if the need arises to move it from the sand. Croceas are rock clams, preferring to live on rocks rather than sand to gather light. But as long as he is getting the adequate light needed on the sand he should be fine. You might see him tilt from side to side every now and then to gather light.
