Here is my toadstoll five minutes ago, I am worried that it is not doing well, I moved it last week (6 days ago, and since it has not been fully extending its polyps.)

I have adjusted flow, and made sure everything in the tank is stable. Here is a pic of it before the move.

Toadstool in top left corner??????

where is it located in the tank now? higher or lower? higher flow or lower flow?

who are its neighbors now versus before? (post a pic of the new situation)

any other changes since then? filter changes, waterchanges, lighting, etc.

No changes in any of the infastructure, it is basicall in the same location it was, I basically just turned it so it would cup towards to top of the tank instead of the front. So, basically it would look like a cup and not a catchers mitt. It is however a little over 2/3 of the way up and it is under the 250W De halides and 4 x 55 w PCs. As far as flow it has a power head right over the top of it, but none of the flow is hitting hit, so most of the flow is indirect.

I hadn't done a water change until last night, just because it was time. I have been feeding a little more often due to my new anthias, but thats really it.

how new is the anthias? about the same timeframe or longer?

so you basically only rotated the sarco to get a more even "look" versus cupped to one side, right? so the white or bleached portion was the lower side before and now is the higher side?

have you moved anything else in the tank in the same timeframe? i have a sarco (s. latum) that i believe was p*ssing off the rest of the sarcos because it was stuck in a crevice. moved it out and a couple immediately perked up.

it doesn't appear to be developing any growths/scabs/infections other than the discoloration (all subdermal at this point from the pic).

switching out/replacing any chemical filter media you're running probably can't hurt though. and if you're not running any chem filters (e.g. carbon) i'd try some.

at this point, i'd suggest sit and wait (if you don't want to do the chemical filtration) to see if it adjusts back to health. fidgeting with it will likely just tick it off some more imo.

Give it some time to adjust to the new locarion and shed the wax coat it seems to be creating. I would never worry about these soft corals unless they turn brown and start to melt away. They are for the most part bulletproof. they just don't like to be moved or touched (you probably did both during the move). If it still looks like that in a week I would start to get concerned about flow lights ect. for now I would change nothing and leave the coral to adjust (amazingly adaptable creatures). Mine are in an SPS enviorment and are growing faster than ever.
