Here's a bad picture of my 3-day-old system's sump for a 10 gallon.
(I used my camera phone instead of my wife's digital camera.)

On the left is my Reef Keeper controller unit, a mag drive 250 for return on the left bottom, red sea prizm skimmer, and a little fuge below that where you can see a tiny ball of cheato.

nice sumps guys, I'm thinking about building my own glass sump if I get an in sump skimmer. On this new system I did my own drilling and plumbing to connect the sump. I'm enjoying the diy stuff more and more, plus it's much cheaper.

Sorry this picture is so bad....it's the best I can do right now. I just added a 9 watt pc light for the fuge that I tore out from the guts of a coralife mini aqua light.

My temp was up to 86.4 F so time for a chiller.

I've built a "ghetto beauty" setup since this thread was last around. I keep frags in it mostly for now, as a quarantine tank for fish too. Here it is with a 70W mh on the display and a 65W LOA PC on the refugium. No skimmer, just weekly water changes. Any critters (stars, snails, worms) I catch in the filter sock of my large system get thrown in the refugium, so it's working alive with all kinds of critters.

REALLY nice pictures yardboy. What kind of camera are you using? And what kind of rock is that xenia on in the last picture?

Thanks Cattleman, it's an Olympus C-4000. I've had it a several years, but it can shoot manual, so I still use it. Mostly it's my underwater camera, but tank shots too.
The piece of rubble that the Xenia is on is I think a piece of Montipora cap. As the plates override each other, the lower one will often die, so when I fragged the colony I pruned off all the dead stuff too.
Nice setup you have, and a beautiful bovine in your avatar. (Yes, I was raised on a farm and can appreciate quality stock)

Guys with 10g sumps: where did you get the pieces of glass for internal walls?

I used acrylic, and siliconed on both sides of it to hold it in place.
