Pls help... some prob with shipment1

Put first load of rock in Wed nite and after 2 days have strange growth that kind of looks like an ice storm hit .. vacuumed bottom in 1 spot where it looked like fuzzy mold on the sand and it was like mucus ... Soes anyone know what it is and how to get rid of it ?? here's a link to a quick pic I took this morning

I had a lot of shmutz on my rocks. It all came off eventually. As the water moves and things crawl over it. I occasionally lightly blasted the rock with a turkey baster. I would worry too much about it just yet. Make sure to check your parameters and I think you should be fine.

Thanx ... one other suggestion was puul out rL/R and do the sniff test for uncured ... but one of them sunk the Titanic and I really don't want to try and get it out (ws not fun putting it in) Tank is 5 feet off floor and I'm 5/9 .. I do have 2 white globby growths on one rock ... is this the bad guy??

if the sponges smell bad then they could be dead. If they are dead they will add to the ammonia and they cycle. If they could be pulled out and the dead material scrapped off it would help easy the cycle. That is what is suggested to do anyway. Luckily none of my sponges smelled bad. lucky for my tank and my nose lol.

Thats just dead micro algae form the picture. Just blast it with the turkey baster then let it skim out.

I'll give that a try tomorrow ... did a water change this afternoon (about 20%) and am waiting for everything to settle in ... used the siphone to clean out the sump also, so I'll see in the AM ... thanx for all the info ...
