I was planning on starting my plumbing this weekend and just got my new pump. I was going to use 1 1/4" plumbing from the overflow and split a Y, run 90% to the skimmer section of the sump and 10% through the fuge. Both off sets of the Y will have 1 1/4" pvc and ball valves. On the return the pump has 3/4" threaded inlet and outlets. So on to my questions....
Should I use 1 1/4" for the return pump on both ends and reduce right at the pump with a bushing or run 3/4" for the entire return?
Do I really need 1 1/4" after the Y from the overflow running to the fuge if I only plan on 50 - 75 gph or should I reduce to 3/4"?
Last one, does the pump have to be oriented so the inlet flows through a bulkhead at the bottom of the sump or can I rotate it and hang it above the sump so the inlet is running vertical and therefore forego the drilling of the tank?
All help greatly appretiated
