Plumbing Critique Required

Hello all. I have just dry fit my plumbing and would like to hear suggestions or concerns anyone has. Anyone see any potential problems? This is my first tank and I'm a little nervous about a couple of things.

The pipes fit together quite tightly and I'm worried I will break the glass on the back of my tank when I am installing for real. Do you push the fittings on until they bottom out or just as far as you can?

Is there anyway to plumb it without glueing to the bulkhead? The way I have it setup once it is attached to the bulkhead there will be no way to take the bulkhead off short of cutting the pipe. Is this how everyone does it?

Is your bulkhead threaded or slip fit? I highly recomend a threaded bulk head so you can revove the fittings easily

looks like it will do great!
but, is there a reason why you didnt just make it out of flexible pvc to accomodate your bend to the middle insteadof putting in the rigid pvc at an angle?
i like external durso stand pipes, as long as the hole is the right size they are very quiet:)

also, if you use the grey electrical conduit it looks a little easier on the eyes as compared to the white plumbing parts.
and like smcdonn said, just use threaded bulkheads and threaded adapters

I guess the bulkhead I am using is a slip fit. It has threads on the outside for the nut and a 1" pvc slides into the inside. You can get bulkheads that have threads on the outside for the nut as well as female 1" threads?

I didn't use flexible tubing for no reason at all. Never really thought about it. As for the grey conduit would it be safe to use? It isn't meant for potable water.

Is the air hole in the drain just a guessing game? Just start small and keep drilling bigger until it's quiet - or its there some kind of hole size guideline? Thanks again.
