Plumbing help. Leaky bulkhead.

Hi,
I'm currently setting up my new 90gal tank and one of the bulkheads in the overflow is allowing water to seep through. This is also my first time plumbing a fish tank. The rubber piece for the bulkhead inside the overflow seems to be fine so I'm not sure why it's not working. It's currently dripping very slowly so I've drained it. Does anyone have any advice on how I can repair it for my setup?
Thanks for any suggestions you may have.

Yes, I hand tightened the nut on the bulkhead. The plumbing is all done and all pvc connections have been glued with pvc cement. I tested it by pouring water into the overflow. The water came out into the sump with no leaks with the exception of the bulkhead in the overflow where water was slowly dripping out. Maybe 1 drip every 30 seconds.

Did you wrap the bulkhead threads with teflon tape? If not I would wrap them, if you can use the pink tape.

Make sure the gasket and mating surface are clean. You may have had a little debris get caught in there. Reassemble and snug it up tight with your hand. Then a quarter to half turn more on the nut with a strap wrench if you have one. If not, use whatever you got to tighten that last quarter to half turn. Just be sure not to overcompress the gasket.

Is it leaking between the glass and bulkhead or the pipe and bulkhead? Is the gasket on the flange side or the nut side of the bulkhead? It needs to be on the flange side.

I unscrewed the bulkhead and checked the gasket and it appears to be clean. I managed to find a wrench and was able to tighten it a bit more after I hand tightened it. It appears to be working now. No signs of leaking for the whole day. Thanks for all the responses.
