Plumbing needs

Hello, I am getting a Fish only tank set up. I would like to build a denitrator. Where can I find the plumbing fittings for 1/4" tubing. Am taking this slowly, checking water weekly to make sure I can keep the salinity right. I hope to start cycling the tank next month. In the middle of the cycling I will set up the denitrator.
Thanks,
Bob

You're obviously doing research, but I would submit that a coil denitrator is probably not the optimal way of denitrating. The combination of a refugium (more correctly, an algae scrubber), live rock & live sand, and depending on your persuasion, either a Jaubert plenum or a DSB, would take care of exporting your nitrates & nutrients.

If you really want to build the denitrator, check the Cole-Parmer catalog for plastic fittings.

Thanks

Thanks

Hy D. Tran, Thanks for the source. Am planning on using LR and am looking for ways to reduce the frequency I need to change the water. Don't have room in the guest bedroom for an extra tank, sump, refugium.

Safedad,

You may want to repost this (or ask a moderator) to move to general reefkeeping or DIY forums, where your post will get a lot more exposure.

A well balanced tank, IMO, does not need a mechanical denitrator. The LR & LS takes care of it for you. I highly recommend a HOB fuge (hang-on-back refugium) if you don't have the room for the sump, etc. Just grow algae in your HOB fuge to export nitrates, and harvest (e.g. throw away) the algae whenever you're doing routine tank maintenance.
