I saw something on the return lines of a tank once, and I'm curious what they are called so I can do som eresearch on what they do. They were on the rotating returns of a 300g tank I visited. They are hard to describe, other thatn the returns seemed to exit into a larger cylindrical tube about 4" long. The tube wasn't cylindrical in the proper sence, but seemed to be bowed out on either end. It looked like some sort of flow enhancer or flow expander (yes, I know I'm quite the eloquent one).

Ok, now I'm no artist...

Any clue what this is called?

Perhaps it was some sort of eductor? A search should bring up a lot of information.
