I want to reduce my 2" diameter pump output to a 1.5" hose.
Any disadvantages?

There could be, but I doubt it. The reduction will cause the water to move through the pipe quicker, but you will get the same output over a given time. Depending on the output of the pump you could stress the hose, but I doubt it.

Decreasing diameter increases velocity and decreases flow. May not be a big deal if you dont need every bit of flow.
