Plywood/ wood tank.

I need to move my 180g, but I'm thinking to build a custom 180 +-, I been looking online and it looks no that hard, I do have some experience building things.
My question is, for a tank 48L, 24 t, 36 deep, a 1/2" glass will work? It will have glass only on the front.

Looks like most standard 180 gallon tanks use 1/2 so I gather it would be fine or you can move up to 3/4" to be safe but that would probably cost twice as much.

I was thinking on the 1/2" since it is only 48" wide and 24 tall. Did you have any old tank around? I'm looking now for a front panel lol

1/2 acrylic would be fine. I don't know much about glass. Thickness is based on water depth (top to bottom not front to back).

Building a tank is a lot of work and not inexpensive. Does the current tank not fit in the new location?

Exactly, the tank is to long for the location [emoji37]. But I'm trying to convince The boss to let me hve the tank in the office.

I'd work on the boss. Much safer in the office, animals won't die during the move, no modifications to the floor above, customers like aquariums, educational opportunity, etc.
