Bought my I-Tech today ... in comes the cone, out goes the Beckett.

Precision Marine Bullet 1, Mag 12 pump (new impeller), and external PM waste container included. Available after Wednesday when my new skimmer arrives.

$200

When I got the skimmer a few months ago I bought the replacement plumbing kit (new air lines, air valve, muffler) for it, and it was refurbed at the PM factory. Cup had a small crack in it which they repaired there, and it doesn't leak. Has a ball valve to adjust water flow. Can be used in or out of sump.

Pic when I got it

Your gonna love it Zach. Give it a few days to break in, but it won't take long..:D

That's what I hear. John is sending a replacement because the cup will not fit in the neck of this one without applying large amounts of force (got the cup in one time with O ring), grease doesn't help very much, and I don't intend to give my skimmer a grease down every time I clean it. Then I go through another break in, hope it works. I have confidence it will work well once I get it broken in, 3rd skimmer's the charm, I guess. It was either this, the Octopus XP 2000 or one of the Vertex Alphas, this was the best value though and had impressive reviews. I like how quiet the Tunze is.

I'll be in Tampa for a week at the end of November, will definitely be stopping back by FAOIS :bounce1: Be cool to visit again

Theya re a very tight fit. Took a few dozen times before mine broke in to jsut having to apply lots of force rather than inch it down..but it is a very snug and secure fit :D

What do you think about the noise the I-tech 100 makes Zach?

Mine took about 1 week to break in but it started pulling skimmate 1 hour after i put it in

Noise is down about 75% from the Bullet. I really like the I-Tech. It pulled quite a lot of brown liquid over night and has an amazing amount off foam spilling into the cup. think I'm gonna like this one.

That was the biggest plus for me. The amount of noise reduction and performance. Plus no more modifications, its a beast to start with.

I dont like the fact that the collection cup doesnt go in unless you almost break the dam thing but other than that its great.

Another thing to consider is, if you have a power outage and the water drains to your skimmer area, when the power comes back on, it floods the collection cup. My old skimmer took a while to reach that level.

What is your water level zach? i notice mine was running well when water is almost at 7".

This is my 3rd skimmer too and its working well for my 120

Mine's in 6.5 inches of water. With the Apex I have it set to where the skimmer power is delayed by 2 minutes after a power outage so that the return pump can pump the water out of the sump so the skimmer won't overflow the cup due to high water level.

Hopefully the replacement I-Tech won't have such a tight cup. John was very cool about it. I'm not going to push so hard it feels like it's going to break. That's just silly.

I knew there was skimmate in my tank. I just knew it.

I need to adjust a bit so the skim is a bit less wet but I emptied the waste container this morning. This is less than 10 hours of skimmate from the I-Tech. That's a reeflo dart next to the container for size reference.

I just use the stock drain- no fitting. It is mostly submerged, just a bit above water.
