for pods to grow properly,

i need a fuge right?

do you run lights on it 24/7 for better pod growth or turn off the lights arnd 8 hours a day?

Copepods and amphipods will populate your tank, with or without a refugium; a well-crafted fuge can add to that number exponentially.

They are most active at night and don't need light. Macro algae does, however, and is grown in a fuge most often, which is perhaps why you're assuming pods need light.

You don't want the lights on 24/7 from what I've been told. Photosynthetic plants need a dark period to recover from the process of photosynthesis.

iv heard the same about 24/7 but i have heard many on here that do. personally i run 18 hour fuge light, opposite my HQI.
