Pokerstar randomly browning / dying off?

In the past couple days ive noticed my pokerstar's blue turn white like its dying. Ive had the 6"x4" piece in the tank for months and its been the blue with green polyps. Had 2 dead spots in the middle due to my ebli angelfish chowing down on it... Hes since found a new home with less sps to eat, the monti was doing amazing and just the other day it started to change... The lower portion which is further away from the light has started to dye off and the polyps are turning brown. Its seemed to be happy where it was(low / bottom of 40g breeder directly under 250w 14k phoenix bulb) Its in strong flow and has since seemed to be happy.

Any ideas? Ive added a few corals since, but i dipped them and i havent seen signs of red bugs/ monti eating nudis.

Should i dip it? Raise it to higher lighting? Its kept its nice color/ has been growing where its been the last 2months, would it just randomly change? Nothing has spiked and the rest of my sps are doing fine(millies/ digi/ smooth skinned acros)

Im lost. lol

Also note it looks like some of the polyps have turned red. Similar to if there was red slime on them, but its not red slime. I have 0 algae in the tank im just using a comparison to color.

I had one that had grown off the frag plug onto the rack and encrusted maybe an inch and then did a similar thing. Started getting pale and the polyps were out less and less then it started receding. The polyps stayed green though. I couldnt save it. A wild superman monti (they didn't touch) right next to it thrived while this happened and is still thriving. Oddly enough a true superman I have did the same thing but I gave it to a friend to try to save it. Time will tell with that one. I know for sure my pH drops in the wintertime due to the windows not being open and my calcium reactor. Is your pH stable but low like mine?

Hey Scott!

I Just dipped it again, found what look like 3 nudis or flatworms! There were 3 about half a inch long, flat and narrow. I fragged a 2"x2" piece from it and soaked them both in coral rx for 15min. Took the smaller one out 1st because it wasnt attached to the rock and i could see there were none on it. The larger one is on a rock so i was unsure if they crawled in a crevasses . If i lose it i lose it, but im worried if there are more!

I rather toss the piece then have them in the tank, granted i have no other montis so if it DOES kill it they will die off.

BED TIME have a flight in 4hrs...neeeeed someeeee sleeeeeep. lol.

This is the guy. Found 3 identical sized(size of a saftey pin when crawling) I have seen 0 other ones aside from these. I've had aefw's in another tank of mine and haven't seen any bite marks/ eggs on any of my frags...

I would bet that you are running too much phosphate binding media (GFO, Purigen, or other brands). Turn the GFO off for a few days to a week and the monti should color right up.
