polarized color?

at the lfs today we found that the angle you looked at the clam changed the color you saw... so these thing are polarized?

is it just one type that does this, or is it the norm?

no all clams look more colorful from above. the color we see is the reaction of the zooxanthellae to our lights. if you turn out your lights and look down on the clam he will look quite plain and brown.

from the side or low angle they are blue. from the top they are green.
