Just thought I'd post how I treated red bugs in the past.When I used to have SPS,I got red bugs from a trade(& failure to QT).I decided that I did not want to kill all the pods/shrimp etc in the tank with dosing the interceptor directly into the main dsplay.So I set up a smaller (basically QT )tank,with decent lighting /flow.I removed all my Acros & placed them into the temporary tank & dosed with interceptor.I did water changes to remove the treatment,but left all the acros in the temporary tank for about a month.I read on line that red bugs are not very mobile-in that they will stay on the coral for the most part & will in fact die after a week or so without a suitable SPS host.After a month I added the acros back to main display,& did not observe any red bugs from that point on.Any new Acros were dipped in Lugols/interceptor for about 8 hours before being added.This worked for me in thae past,so just thought I'd share.HTH

The quote above insinuates, I had them in the past, still have them, but treat with interceptor. I know that's not what you were going for, but it sounds a little ominous, and I don't want to jinx myself. I had them 3 separate times, and refused to trade with anyone when I wasn't fully sure if I'd gotten rid of em or not. I treated my whole tank, just to be sure. I lost hermits and a cleaner shrimp, just to be sure. LOL, I don't ever want to go through that again!

Red bugs are more common than most hobbyist understand, it takes a trained eye to spot them, a responsible hobbyist to treat them, and just when you think you have done everything to prevent from getting them back, you must treat again because they are there.
The truth is that, at this point it is my believe that 98% of all Sps keepers that say they never had them, actually do have them and just aren’t aware of it, fortunately treatment of this critters is somehow readily available and treatment is fairly simple to do.
My suggestion to spot this critters is to take a good macro pic of your sps’s and them look at them in your computer with a software that allows you to zoom on the branches,
If you need help, we have great resources in the Club to help you ID and treat correctly.

Roger, I must admit that one of my intentions in posting the poll was to see how many votes for "never had them", we would get. I agree very much with your statement above. I think it's probably closer to 50% or 75% than 98% but same idea. It is really amazing how hard these things are to spot, even when you know what to look for.
