I use both on alternating basis. I use these two products (DT's & Koralvit F) based on the discussion threads from Barry's clam forum (www.clamsdirect.com).
As for helped, I'm not sure if you mean that the clams stay alive or colorful or growth rate. It's hard to tell because you don't know if the metal halides are doing this alone.
Others talk about how they see the clams feeding, I can't tell if mine are feeding or not, they do not look any different when dosing with DT's or Koralvit F.
I also feed sparingly. usually once or twice a week vs the recommended daily feeding.

These products only help people keep clams under less than optimal conditions. The right light/water parameters and your clams will streach out and grow, no green water needed. I think it's a major source of the algae problems you read about in threads here at RC, too. JMO,

I agree that if you dose daily or even every other day, your tank will probably be subjected to a algae problem. That's why I only dose or feed once or max twice a week.
Also if you have clams 2.5" & under, then I think you need to feed them more often.

I just ordered Koralvit F to give a try (maybe use 2 a week). And maybe DT's once a week. I have no fish load as of right now and will probably end up getting a few Chromis.
