Polyclad Flatworms

I had seen one of these in my tank before - it was huge!- but I was never able to find it again until today. I have long suspected this has harrassed a few snails (moreso than hermits) and possibly a clam. I was lucky enough to wake up and find it in my sump. It comes in at about 4" long

These can be amazingly beautiful and multicolored creatures. They are somewhat like nudibranchs but more related to other worms like flukes - and even the annoying red planaria.

If you've ever had some weird mysterious things going on with your inverts, keep an eye out for a guy thats really camoflauged for a sandy and rocky environment, it took me a long time and great luck to get this pest out of my tank!

Awesome job!

I had one of those a while back as well. It killed numerous snails not to mention a very nice Maxima clam, before it was erradicated!

Amen to that. I'd literally have to tear up my rockwork to find more unless I caught them slithering about (I had looked at night with a red light but still no luck) .. And even then they can hide! gah
