polyp extension

I was just wondering if there are any tips or tricks to gain polyp extension?

i currently have a 240 with mainly sps and i know there are some corals in my tank with great polyp extension like the birds nest, and a few others, but the majority of the SPS dont really have good extension.

is there any tips that can be handed out or suggestions? if you need more information, just let me know.

When a coral is happy and healthy it will have good polyp extension. What really changed it for me was when I upgraded my flow from koralias to vortechs. The random wave patterns changed everything and I am seeing extension like I never have before. If you haven't already invest in some sort of wavemaker.

Also, if your water quality isn't up to par it will effect polyp extension as well.

i have not upgraded my flow yet, but i have a MJ1200's on a red sea wavemaker and my return pump is a reeflo Dart (3600) and it is turnd on full throttle and gets distributed through a row of loc-line in the back of the tank.

(i would love to upgrade to a Vortech, but money is deff a big hindrance with me....)
