This is my honest testimonial. I have a 225g mixed reef system. I'm very methodical with my tank and its stability. All my parameters are consistent with 0 nitrates and at max .01 phosphates. I dose my calcium, alk, mag and aminos with a doser. I feed a variety of frozen foods and add vitamins and minerals to the fish food with occasional garlic extreme to help insure immunity. I perform weekly 15% RO/DI water changes. I had a small indicator of iche with a newly introduced fish when my tank was first setup but nothing to be alarmed with since it was setup 10 months ago and that all the fish added after that never had shown signs of white spot. They have all been flourishing since and iche has not been present visibly on any other fish in my tank since. I planned to add a kole and hippo tang. Knowing their suseptability to iche and that it maybe dormant in my system, I decided to do a preemptive strike by using polyp lab medic. I introduced the new fish after 4 days of starting treatment with "medic" I doubled my dosage and treated the tank for 20 days. Both of the tangs started to show signs of iche about 1 week into the treatment. The signs were minimal but didn't disappear entirely when I was using this product. As mentioned I stopped treatment at 20 days. About a week after I stopped the treatment, iche came on with a vengeance. 2 days after the iche seemed to really take off, I started using Polyplab medic again but with no results. I lost about 15 fish in about 4-5 days including my clown pair along with several other very hearty fish during the week of medic treatment. All my parameters have been consistent Including temp, salinity, ammonia, nitrates, phosphates, etc. I check these and more multiple times per week.
I tried to contact the company 3 times on the website when I started to experience fish loss but with no response from them. They only responded recently after I left a negative comment on Facebook. The Polyp Lab representative tried to blame me and say it was my fault even though I relayed my test results and that there were no system shocks to weaken fish immunity. I tried diligently to use their product twice with ideal parameters but they still said it was my fault that medic didn't work. They claim to kill iche!!!! They deleted my Facebook comment and this is they're response when I called them out on it....
No offense taken we are very confortable with the way MEDIC is advertised. After 10x years of succesfull sales of medic around the world i am confident that the problem you experienced was a results of multiple factors that have no relation with the use of our product. You cant cure a cold naked with both feet in the snow nor than you can prevent an heart attack by taking aspirin once a day while staying in a couch looking at TV
