Polyup Extenion only at night

Ok so during the day time my SPS have little if any PE. But a hour after dark they are all extended nice and long. They are all growing really good and looking great as far as color and what not just no daytime pe. Should I just stop worrying about seeing it with lights on or is there something I can do? My water parameters are all well within the normal limits for SPS. My lights are cree LED. Just looking for thoughts on this.

I had the same problem and I found one of my fish was nipping during day. It was my flame angel fish. Got rid of him and great PE now. What fish do you have ?

There is your reason. Both fish may nip at polyps. They retract to protect themselves. Unfortunately, if it bothers you, you will have to remove one or both fish. You could try putting them in your sump and check polyp extension. It should return quickly. It's a shame, because in my opinion nothing can match a flame angel for their red color vibrance. I had to sell mine too due to the same problem.

Well still getting good growth so may just have to accept the fact no PE during the day as I know my wife won't get rid of the fish.
