Polyurethane clear coat vs. Salt water

Fish?
I'm a bit embarassed right now to mention that I didn't think twice before emptying a can of Minwax Polyurethane semi-gloss clear coat in the same room as my 55g saltwater mixing bucket (it's full and mixing).

Is this the sort of situation where I should drain it to the sewer, sanitize my bucket and start over? Or, despite the fumes and potential contamination, let it ride. I'm assuming that I've just thrown money down the drain.

On the bright side, the addition to my stand is almost ready for fabrication. After replacing my 180g with a 120g on the same 6' stand, this left a 2' space at the right side of the stand. Finally, I am taking care of it.

Stupid, stupid, stupid,

I've stained & used polyurethane in the basement where my sump is at with no ill effects. Aerate the water once the odor from the PU is gone.

I'm surprised you're not dead yet.

Give me all your corals and fish before they kick too.

or don't worry since the only thing that really pull in th evapors would be a skimmer and even then it would be minor...

Wow!! Well this is great news. I was really afraid that I was going to have to waste time and money here. Thanks!

And Walter... no. We need to get together soon!

I have a question sort of on topic.

I'm making a canopy for my tank and wondered how I should finish the inside of it where my lights will be. I don't want the humidity/salt to ruin the canopy. It's made of Oak.

Any suggestions?

White, 2 part epoxy paint. A bit more expensive but definitely worth the extra $$ in terms of protection. Should be able to get it @ a specialty paint store.
