my pom pom lost one of its anenoms i bought it on a inpluse and did not know the carry anenoms around and he has lost one and i read that if they loose them both he will still be ok but i read he may pick up corals and i would like to know if this happens will to coral be ok or would it die for not being in one certain spot cus i know if you move a coral to much it gets stessed and could result in it dieing

i have read that as well . but say if it lost the other nem and was nem-less lol i read it will go steal corals as if it was a nem would the coral live on his claws ? i have ducnan coral purple mushroom frag and hammer coral which are all newer to the tank

Mine lost its nems and replaced them with aptasia for a while. Somehow later on it had found new nems to replace that.

My guy lost his nems about a year ago. He currently carries small aptasia. He has been with us for about 3 years. I have had others in the past carry around zoas. I've never seen one go after duncans, mushrooms, or frogspawn, and I've kept this species since about 2009.

When they lose their anemones in a reef tank, they become like little decorator crabs with finding and carrying around corals instead. Shouldn't bother anything really. Might pick up a small zoa and tear it in half or just pick up two. Maybe even a small mushroom.

Just like Raptor said above, mine lost their anemones completely, carried other small corals awhile (one had majano anemones for a while), then somehow showed up with the normal variety again, keeping them now for a couple years.
