Pompeyjohn's SPS frag tank

My last tank was a 34 Solana. It was doing great until I left home for a week on holiday. Feeding instructions were left, but the tank was overfed and it crashed. So I decided to take that opportunity to start a new build.

The idea behind this build is to have a frag tank that will be SPS only, and look nice enough in the living room to keep the wife happy. I am hoping some of the coral from the crashed Solana will recover.

Ok some system information"¦

Display:
  • 24x24x12 (about 30 gallons) made by Deep Blue.
  • Coast to coast overflow and drilling by Carolina Reef Growers.
  • Frag Racks by The Blue Glow.
  • MP10 on reefcrest @ 60%
  • AI Sol Nano, hanging from Rapid Led cables.
  • Stand from local furniture maker.

Sump
  • Standard 20h
  • Bubble Magus NAC5e skimmer
  • Rio HF 1400 return pump (temporary)
  • BRS biopellets in TLF 150 reactor, fed by mj1200
  • Via-aqua heater
  • Marine Magic Triple Doser, for BRS Calcium and Alkalinity
  • APC battery backup power supply
  • A couple of false percs

Things to do next
  • Set up dosing unit
  • Set up ATO
  • Repair second TLF 150, and put GFO in it
  • Use some Kent Phosphate Sponge to remove any lingering phosphates
  • Plumb both reactors into main return line
  • Upgrade return pump (I am considering a mag12)
  • Fit dampening pad to bottom of return pump
  • Set up filter sock on return line
  • Work out what the funky white sponge on the galaxea is
  • Perhaps trade the false percs for a six line, small kole, or lawn mower blenny for cleanup
  • Add doors to cabinet

Ok...I actually have a question now.

How's the light coverage with the AI Nano Sol? Any idea on the PAR levels at the bottom of the tank?

Apologies for the delay, I ended up getting two nano's as one was not quite covering the whole tank. PAR wise they are both monsters and more than enough for SPS at the bottom.
