Poor mans two part dosing system

I rigged this up today and it works great. I saw a few drip dosing systems for two part online but I just couldnt get myself to pay what they are asking. So I got to thinking and came up with this unique and rather cheap set up.

I used two cocoa cola holiday themed bottles that look like christmas tree ornaments. I cut the bottoms out and drilled a hole in the cap. Then I used aquarium silicone to glue the medical needles in place. Then I took some pliers and slowing crimped the needle until I had a nice steady drip rate.

All you do then is suspend it somehow over your water and its all good. The best part, it just cost a couple bucks to make.

cool man! Keep us updated, I'm curious to see if you have problems with the calcium clogging up. I use cups with small holes drilled in the bottom (I would think that they would be bigger than your holes, but maybe not) and I have to pull the cups and clean them about twice a month.

time will tell.:-) You also just use 1/4 inch tubing with small valves that are adjustable so you can adjust your drip rate..or use John gust valves too.

Hmm didnt really think of that. Yes time will tell. I probably will have to clean then which is all right they are easily removable. I have them just hanging on a tack. They work great for now. Also the needles are pretty large bore. They came from a medical kit used to take massive amounts of fluid out of someones lung in a emergency. The kits were out of date and they were gonna throw them out so I snagged them.

Or you can even just tie a knot in it. Loosen/tighten knot to adjust rate. That's how I drip acclimate. :)
