Poorly coral

I am not too sure what coral this is, but have had it for a couple of weeks now. It was doing okay but I think during the other night one of my fish had been nipping at it. One end of the opening had no green on it and looked as though it was dead but the other half still had some living Green on it. Over the last two days though, it has changed in appearance and has some sort of film on it. Can anyone confirm what this is? Is it now in entirely dead?

It looks like a Euphyllia of some sort IMO. It's gone now unfortunately. Assuming your parameters are within reason and the lighting is sufficient I would just toss it and move on.

Thanks for your reply. I thought it was but hoping it weren't. Water is relatively ok, don't think it helped that my dragon wrasse was tucking into it.

Part of that flappy skin like mucus went over another of my corals and now that looks like it's receding too. What do you think? ...

Hard to tell from your pictures but there are some infections that can spread from coral to coral. If you have not yet I would remove the skeliton.

Also agree with the Euphyllia ID, either Euphyllia ancora (wall hammer) or Euphyllia divisa(wall frogwpawn). Especially for a new tank and hobbyist I would recommend the branching type if you give them another try. The wall types are much more fragile and unforgiving.

I have removed the dead one but the other one looks really bad now. Is there anything you can suggest to help him get better?

Yeah, if it dies put it in a corner of your, sometimes you can get one that will start producing babies after it dies
