does anyone have special things they do to have there zoos come out fully? is there a chemical you can use thats good for that? and what is the best way to get them to spread?i was also wondering if flow in my tank had anything to do with it.

Flow, lighting, food, water parameters. Everything plays a role in happy corals. I wish it were as easy as a chemical. maybe if you tell about your tank a little, I could give you some advice.

I'm wondering what you mean by fully? A single morph can change colors, patterns, overall size, and skirt length due only to lighting and flow. I used to have pictures of the same morphs in different tanks and different spots within tanks showing how much they can change, but I can't seem to locate them.

In my experience they grow most quickly in a nutrient-rich tank under very high light levels.

i have a 46 bow, 2 400 watt metal halides, 9 watt UV sterilizer, CPR fuge, berlin skimmer, about 20-30 pounds of live rock, tons of frogspawn and hammer, nice big fan to keep the temp down, 3 damsils, lots of zoos and shrooms. for flow i have a korala 2, the return into my CPR from a fulval 304, and the return from my skimmer. and a great big carpet anneome. everything seems to be doing good exept some zoos i have. i went on vacation to canada for a week and had my dad watch the tank. when i got back i had more brown algee then i could handle and my solinidy was over 3. i got it back down to normal now, and everything seems to be great again, expept some zoos.

Certainly, there are numerous chemical remedies for your ailment, primarily in the form of topical creams and capsules. Shoot me a PM and I will write you some scripts.

I would say they are probably shell shocked. With the salinity hitting .3 they probably just need a few weeks to relax and de-stress. You have to remember that corals are living things too, if I hit you with my car at 45 you wouldn't bounce back the next day and be like new....you might need a week or two to walk it off. Give them some time they'll most likely come back better than before.
