popular everyday food for chromis

Bought 6 recently but they don't seem to enjoy flake food I've tried. I tried Seachem NutriDiet Marine flakes, New Life Spectrum Optimum flakes and Omega One freshwater flakes.

What do guys feed them everyday? They are the only fish in my 20 gallon long reef tank that's been running without fish for over a year. Thanks

I use New Life Spectrum sinking pellets for everything..

Frozen mysis would be my choice

Frozen mysis and NLS pellets are both good staples.

This is what I use as well.

What these guys all said.

I've been using NLS pellets for many years (20+?) and also have some frozen Mysis and Rod's original in the freezer for once or twice a week. Mostly they get NLS pellets.

If they are small, try the .5mm, as they grow, switch to a larger size.

If they still won't eat them, soak them in some Selcon and then give them a try (well - not you - let the fish try them:spin1:)

I alternate between pellets soaked in garlic, flakes and frozen mysis. They really like the Frozen, but wanted to make sure they eat the flakes. I feed flakes or pellets and every other feeding with frozen.

My chromis eat anything I put in the tank... Pellets, flake, frozen... They even pick at th algae clip! Sorry I can't be helpful, maybe they just need to settle in ?

Yeah, they may be still adjusting to the tank. I really don't want to bother with frozen food though. I did stop by pet's supply store and they had Omega One FD mysis shrimp. I gently crushed some between my fingers and sprinkle that. They did eat that quite vigorously. And the pieces float so they all get a chance to eat them. My chromic seem to spend almost their time in the top half of the water column. I've yet to see them looking for food the the substrate. I gave some to my clowns which devoured them. Thought I give it to my discus. They spit it out, discus are so picky.

Thanks guys!
