Porcelain Anemone Crab Question

i have a Porcelain Anemone Crab in my tank and it has chosen a piece of live rock as "his" today i added a yellow tang, pistol shrimp and a firefish into the tank. the shrimp and tang are doing amazing, the tang is swimming like a freakin champ lol. i know firefish like to hide in LR and as he was searching for a nice spot to hide he managed to swim in the crabs cave type spot and boom the crab goes for him and there goes a dead fish. now my question is, is this common? or am i just unlucky lol? i dont have a anemone in the tank for him at this time, so maybe he is just really aggressive due to not feeling 100% safe? idk just my guess, any ideas? has anyone heard of this happening before?

I do know they will defend their anemone from clownfish, etc. Not sure if that applies when they claim a 'cave' rather than an anemone, but they do get aggressive toward intruders.

Sorry to hear about the firefish Bran... If you decide to find another home for the crab let me know. I'd give ya enough for him that you could go get another firefish if you want. It was great having you and your girl along for the trip!

yea the trip was fun,wish i had more money to spend lol, but yea thanks for letting me and my girl come along

its ok, we can never predict how the fish and inverts will act towards eachother, good thing that firefish was on sale ill get another one in a few weeks maybe

yea no shoes + snow + 1 or more hours by car, would take me like all day so yea i think ill pass
