Porcelen Anemone crab almost killed my Rose

Just to let people know that an Anemone crab (maroon clown etc) can and will stress a Rose to death if doesnt get a chance to get acclimated. For the record the crab was slightly large for the 3 inch rose. Since introduction the crab never ever let up!! even hugging the Rose at times, until today when i noticed the dreadfull gaping mouth and deflated tenticles. Mind you the crab was still sitting in it..

i quickly netted the crab, (which would not get too far from the Nem) breaking one of its legs in the process and moved it to a QT setup, within a few hours the Rose was back to normal and even ate some mysis.

The moral of the story is when the signs of stress are there take action immediately, i should have removed the crab 2 days ago when i noticed it taking food out the Nems mouth..... damn user!!!! :mad2:

are you sure thats what was happening, it almost sounds like the anemone may have just been expelling waste

im almost positive... This crab was waaayyy tooo much for the Nem, it never had a chance to get acclimated.. (kinda freaks me out how obsessed the crab was, forcing itself on the Nem) it was running and hiding in spots it seems to keep this crab from bothering it.. At least thats how i interpreted it.. Im not a vet at this, but that was pretty obvious.
