Positioning sps frags

Should they be mounted vertical or horizontal?

I try to position them horizontal. That way they encrust and grow outward instead of straight up

I agree with stressed damsel. Horizontal is the way to go.

Placing frags horizontally increases light capture and also encourages axial corralite development. You can even point them slightly downward. Garf.org has good pictures and descriptions of this process.
