Possible Flukes on C.Collare

Hi :wave:

I believe that my Chaetodon Collare has flukes, but since it's the first time I have to deal with this parasite, I would appreciate the opinion of others...

It's hard to see on the photos but he has 2 deep wounds near its tail, that haven't healed for more than 2 months now. He also has 2 spots on is right eye.

On the last picture you can see him "œasking" my juvenile Chaetodon melannotus for a cleaning, doing the head shaking thing. He also occasionally scrapes against the rocks.

None of my other fish display signs of being infected, all off them (including the collare) are eating fine.

What do you guys think? Should I treat the Collare in a treatment tank with praziquantel?

Yeah. Do it! My Majestic Angel had the same symptoms. Better to catch it early before the flukes go for the gills. The fact that the fish is showing visible signs, indicates that it can be worse than it really is. Flukes cannot be seen easily. Try FW dip and seeing if it has flukes (they kinda look like transparent sesame seeds but really tiny). There is a post here on RC that explains alot about flukes. Once they infest the gills, it's very difficult to treat. Hit it with Prazipro. It has been 8 days since treatment of my angel, and it looks great (eating like a pig). So far so good...Knock on wood!

I think I'm going to give a try... Can't find Prazipro in Portugal tough.
Going to use Tremazol from Sera (same active substance, but different mixing agent).
According to the Tremazol med directions, I have to place the fish on a treatment tank for 6 hours, then return it to the DT. Kind of different to the Prazipro treatment... :strange:
