Possible flukes

I just noticed my yellow tang has a milky substance on his right eye and whenever i get a glimpse of him it looks like itss a fluke. what can i use to treat him that i can put in my DT. My dt is a 210 with one nem, lr and 6 other fish in it and its near impossible for me to get him out.

Prazipro is what your going to want to treat. Not sure if you should use it on your display tank tho.

ive been trying to get him out but i just cant get him quick enough and im stressing my other fish in the process.....ive been feeding him well and supplementing food with zoecon, garlic and vitamin c, should i just continue that and see what happens?

Prazipro is safe for your DT. Follow directions and do at least two doses to make sure you get any eggs.

i just ordered a fish trap online, when i get it im going to try and catch my tang and stick in him in a qt. should i still use prazipro or is there something stronger i could use now that he is out of the DT? None of my other fish show signs of fluke so im praying it stays that way.

Prazi is still the way to go. I would still treat the tank too. But if you need to treat both the bish and the tank theres no reason to stress him by taking him out.

I believe prazi is safe as far as your nem goes - but it will kill any worms in your tank (bristle worms, tube worms, spaghetti worms, etc) I think shrimp are gonners..not sure.

But considering the ramifications, you may want folks with experience on having dosed their tank (with a nem) to give some feed back. I've only dosed it in QT. But it is the way to go with flukes. If he's in there with them, your tank is essentially infected. A fresh water dip would give your tang some immediate relief, but would not help what will happen going forward in your DT.

Not true.

I dosed my DT for two weeks. All my dusters and as far as I can tell all my bristle worms are still there. Neither of my anemones was effected, same with my three shrimp.

^^ that's interesting - I've heard of other experiences over the years (wiped out the "fauna" so to speak). But I'm glad to know you can dose it in the DT like that Maybe those others were heavy handed in their dosing. :strange:

I looked into prazi dosing in dt and it seems like its mixed....some ppl were fine and some werent. Iknow its going to stress my tang out but i just dont want to chance possible crashing my DT. Ive monitored all my fish for the past 2wks and all of them seem fine and they are all eating like pigs (i soak the food in zoecon, vitamin c and garlic) and none of them have signs of any parasite or disease. Only my yellow tang is shaking every so often.

I went to petco today and got a 20l with a hob filter and a powerhead. I just set it up and put fresh sw in it so once i get my trap in im going to try and get him out and move him there for a 2-3 wks.

Ive never Qt'd any of my fish before and now its coming back to bite me in the a**. I was always too lazy to set one up and now that i have one im definitely going to be qting any fish that goes into my DT.

well update!!! i got my tang out and treated him for the 2 days in my qt, today i checked on him and his eyes are starting to clear up, however he has a brown spot on him. anyone know what that could be?
