I read the FAQ, I clicked the link for fuzzy cotton like and got this:
Sorry - no matches. Please try some different terms. In addition i did a google search and only got one result where it was determined it was ich which wasnt helpful in this regard.
So...

I was wondering if there was a DIP method for PimaFix? I was going to combine it with Mela. I was thinking of just doing 4 gallons of water change water in my old salt bucket since it's ready to go temp wise etc, and just add 2.5 ml's of both and dip him for like 10 minutes.

Does anyone have any experience with these medicines and this condition?

My hospital tank cracked open, it was REALLY old. I just dont have the cash for another right now, I dont want to go 10 gallon cause changes happen so fast in the vol of water.

My copperband butterfly has some cottony growths on his fin edges. At first I thought it was just a splotch of white coloring but it's gotten a bit bigger and I can see it more clearly. he doesnt seem to be really distressed by it, but it's obviously not going to just go away.

It is not ich, I am very sure. It's been too long for one,, and he only still has the same original spots, the only form at edges of fins, they grow larger and into each toher rather than multiply.

A picture would help.

Fungal issues are actually rare in SW and I would doubt that is your problem.

I suggest you do a google for lympho (lymphocytis (sp?)) - a viral disease sometimes called cauliflower disease.

Lympho isn't generally fatal and often goes away on its own so long as you keep water & food quality excellent.

I know sorry!! was trying to catch him, he hogs it up when the camera is there. i swear he knows what it is. He gets all luxurious and strutful. If i move he comes and gets in the way when i'm taking corals pictures.

That looks like lympho - akin to warts in humans. No big deal .. kinda common - no cure .. tends to be contagious only within same species. As previously stated ... maintain good water conditions and feed healthy food - don't waste money on "meds".

I'm looking into lympho now..

I dont let my water change much. I do dose 2-part but at seperate parts of the day and it rarely if ever fluctuates. I run 0 am, 0 trites, 0 trates. We thought when we bought him it might just be debris because we had seen him there before, and that store has never had issues. We've been going there a long time. When i got him it was tiny,, but in the last 2 weeks since we got him it's gotten bigger, but hasnt spread.

Thanks guys on the quick diagnosis. Indeed as suspected, i found a forum over in NZ with pics. Takes 4 weeks, for anyone else with it, to run it's course.
