possible growth

I was told that when the sps is growing the new growth is a whitish before it colors up? if not I might be having some bleaching on the tips of my millepora. I'm new to sps and love it so far.

yes they are. I have an older digital that does not get good close-ups through the glass. looks all fuzzy.

Try focasing the camera on the rock directally below the frag and not the frag. Some cheaper cameras (mine included) won't focas on a frag (too small), and focas on the glass in the back making the frag look blury, but if you focas on the rock below it you should get a clear pic.

Still kinda hard to tell. Some of it looks like growth but other places look like recession. I have a coral growing like mad that shows the white area. I will snap a pic when the lights come on and post that for you to compare.

The shape of the white area makes me think recession, when it is growth it is usually more uniform around the branch, not splotchy.

I will say recession as well.

There are a couple of pieces where the white is just too far down the branch. Also, the base is not encrusted (which id expect first, but not necessarily) and the overall color is weak.

Sorry to hi-jack but its a similar issue.

What do you think about this ?

Good polip extension, growing a lot, but to many white for my taste

Joao, in your case, I think that milli is getting ready for some explosive tabling growth! It looks very good to me.

I would assume that it's been going through a growth spurt(?)

Great pic of great growth. Now I don't need to shoot and upload. Yea! :D

Come-on now, you know darn well that we want to see your pic too ;)

I actually just cut these from a larger colony and cemented them down. I also had a crab living in them. I believe he was picking at them so I pulled him out with a pair of tweezers and now he lives in my refugium. also have a green clown goby that will not leave them. should I separate him out as well? could it be the heat doing this? my tank normally runs 79 and has been up to 82.5 in the last week

Thanks guys. I´ve been having mixed feelings with this one: happy with the growth but sometimes concerned abouth this whitening. My other acros (even the millis)only get white tips due to growth and this one...

2 pics with 1-1/2 months difference (also changed background)

When I came back from holidays, I found a crab in another millepora that ate 2 branches down to the "bone".
I don´t have a picture but it looked totally differente from what you have.
Do the polips extend at all ?
