Possible ich situation

In the past day I have noticed my Yellow tang has some inperfections on its skin. Im assuming its ich due to the white colour.

Even tho it will be a b***h to catch all my fish and move to a QT tank I think this is the only option to cure the problem.

I currently have

Yellow tang
Yellow wrasse
Royal gramma
Mandarin
Purple firefish
2 false percs
Anthias (cant remember what kind)

What size quarantine tank will I need... I have a 30 gal I can use will this be big enough if I put in enought pipes/cups for the fish to hide?

What equipment will I need. Heater, bucket/siphon/net only for the qt tank, HOB filter with filter floss that sat in display sump for a couple days for bacteria, desk lamp (prolly only on when need to do stuff in tank)

Ill post some pics when I get a chance to verify that it is actually ich.

Is a Qt tank the best possible solution or should I try garlic extract/selecon first?

Thanks.

Your 30g may be a little small. It does NOT have to be a "tank" it can be anything that can hold water. tubs, etc. All the other equipment is as simple as you want it but most importantly, you must have some live bacteria to filtrate the ammonia and nitrite out of your system. There are bacteria cultures you can buy at your lfs you can jump start it, and atleast use your water for your DT that will help with acclimation and contain little bacteria. A few days in your sump may not be enough time to culture enough, but every little bit helps. Garlic and selcon are benificial for immunity on a minimmal basis. It's not enough to rid your fish of ich.
Your other concern will be your mandarin beings though most often they eat nothing but pods. If you are a lucky one that has one that will eat prepared, than it's an easy go. But, if your like most of the mandarin keepers you will have a problem getting him to eat in a cramped and podless enviornment. Even if he does it prepared, the other fish will have their fill before he gets a chance to have a nibble. All of these are simply obsticles to conquer. It can be done, it should be done. You may get by with doing lots of water changes to keep your levels in check, and you can try to target feed your mandarin.

I don't see any "salt grains", but I do see some white cotton-like growth, which makes me think that it's lymphocystis and not ich.
Lymph is caused by a virus and there is no known cure for it. Most fish get over it eventually. It's slightly contagious, so it's best to move him into a QT. Lymph is almost never deadly, just extremely annoying.
