Possible New Transplant

Just trying to get some feedback on the local reef scene in the Memphis area. I might be relocating to the area and was wanting to know about stores, club activity, etc. I currently live in Macon,Ga. and have been active in the Atlanta Clubs. I have a 180gal reef that is mostly SPS. Any information would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Our club currently has over 100 members. We have monthly meetings with about 25-30% participation.

Local stores include Kermit's Reef, Something Fishy, and Ocean Environments with Kermit's being the best of those by far.

Various perversions. But within the reef relm, the members run the gammet; SPS, LPS, zoas. It's a good group of folks. There are some pretty good fabricators; acrylic and stands.

Hey Nomad!
Well I hope you get a chance to join us. At the least you might have a chance to attend a meeting and see if we're up to par with our Atlanta brethren. We're sharing members since we got together over the SaltWaterU and i'm glad of it. Nice bunch of people you got there. As far as what we're into, i'd have to agree with Tim. We're all over the place. Richard's got a seagrass tank, Ramiro's on his way to a SPS tank , and a lot of us have mixed reefs. I'm hoping to go all sps here in the next few months. Not to mention we have the St Jude project's up and the new tank coming in soon. Hope to meet you sometime!
BTW, when's SaltWater U this year. I'm READY TO GO!

Looks like I'm heading that way! They told me I had the job but we still have some minor details to work out ($$$). Anyway, If it works out I will be going over next week. I'm concerned about moving a 180 that far and loaded with SPS. I have thought about selling my system and starting over once I get settled. I have some friends that have offered to hold some of the nicer stuff and I will probably unload the rest. The fish are a problem being how I have had some for almost 8 years now. Does anyone have any facilities to hold any coral?
