possible problem with toadstool

my toadstool is the verry first coral i purchased, over a year ago, and i have had no problems with it untill now. It has a small dark colored, pie slice shaped, spot in the outer rim and it looks as if three of the polups are trying to come out but are not able to. could it be tissue degeneration?

It's possible, keep a close eye on it. Toadstools can degregate quickly. If this happens it may be necessary to frag a piece of undamaged tissue to save the coral.

If you could post a picture of it, people may be able to provide more assistance.

what would be the best way to frag it if i need to

It could just be shedding. Toadstools shed their outer layer from time to time. Can you get a pic of it?
