possible problem

I recently bought a squamosa (last week) and it acclimated well and has been open everyday, seemingly happy. It simply shut itself late today and has not reopened. I am not sure if it coinsided with the lights going off or not. The other clams in the tank are the same as they always are (a max and crocea) -- never had a squamosa, so not sure if I have a potential problem or not -- help would be appreciated

Did something fall into it. I have a squamosa and it acts the same as my derasa. It takes alot of energy for clams to stay closed, it must be closing for a reason. Have you checked your water? What other tankmates do you have? Have you checked for pyrm. snails? How did you acclimate? Lighting, and location?

who knows what happend right before I found it closed, maybe one of the fish landed on it ?? In any event, it seems just fine now -- just a case of being nervous I guess -- thx
