Possible Webcam support?

I'm just thinking out loud here. Would it be possible to have a webcam connected to the Profilux after the web interface is completed? I think it would be a great add on for those who travel often and want to see their tank when their away. Connecting a webcam to the Profilux is something I would enjoy having.

I think that's never going to happen since most webcam have built-in web browser. Why would they reinvent something that already widely available.
Just my .02 cents

hmm how about calling it a cameras :)

I would also be interested in getting a direct connect cameras but problem is I don’t think the processor is fast enough to handle video. you could attach it to a computer but then it defeats the purpose of having a dedicated controller...

it does, but at the same time you have more control.

I have just setup a web cam on a cheap pc attached to my profilux that sits in my tank room.

Use WME9 (Windows Media Encoder 9) to stream the video. I am on 1.5Mbps adsl and I am running at 3fps streaming at 20K at a resolution of 320x240, and i can see the tank fine and the movement of the fish.

maybe if the LAN/WLAN device had a web interface (cant remember if it does,) but it could have a link to your webcam (mine is on port 8080)

To link to a streaming wme9 session the hyperlink text is mms://(ip address):(port)

i.e.
mms://sjp-770.no-ip.org:8080
