Possum Wrasse

From my readings they sleep in the rocks, but I wouldn't know for sure as I have been on the lookout for one for 2 years.

Any LFS I have been to never has one, and I will not pay LA's shipping. I will find one, one of these days.

They have a yellow banded one in my local LFS and I am tempted.

I have seen a few yellows, but am on the lookout for the tanaka variety. I prefer the look of the red body with no lateral lines near the eyes like a regular white banded.

If you do end up with one, good luck. From what I have read and talked to a few people that have them, they are very skittish and hide among the rocks most of the time.

I've had a Tanaka. They are very shy and hide all the time. Mine jumped into the sump and hid there. Was never able to get him back out of it.

I also have a pink streaked/cryptic wrasse which is actually much less shy although it's a lot smaller than the Tanaka. I actually like it a lot more. It will still hide in the rocks but come out for food and sometimes just to explore. It's one of my favorites. If you haven't seen one, it looks like a pink version of a six line with blue highlights.

I have 2 in my 400g. I don't know where they sleep but it's a bare bottom. I only see them a few times a month. They seem to always be in a cave or searching under rocks. Cute little guys tho
