I recently lost about 2/3 of a 2" favia colony. It's been about a month or so and the remaining 1/3 seems stable and happy.
The colony completely covered a small piece of rubble. So now 1/3 of the rock is healthy favia, the other 2/3 is white skeleton slowly being covered by algae.
What is the best strategy for regrowth? Should I frag and mount the surviving portion on a new piece of rubble? Or should I just let it be and hope grows over the old, dead portion?
Thanks!
