Yeah, I heard it was a slow grower too. I'm surprised how nicely it has been growing.

I don't get super fast growth, but I prefer color over growth any day.

I prefer the color over the growth too. I noticed your Portland tort had a deep deep blue skin. Do you feed your fish everyday?

I'm trying to figure out if there is a correlation between the organic load (# of fish and how often fed) and deep coloration.

Nice tort everybody. Do they all have different color because of the lighting system they are in, or its just take time for all of them to mature and change to the real color?

Lighting, nutrient load, and (as was discussed in another thread) some people have been sold Oregon Torts that aren't really Oregon Tort. This seems to happen alot with the Cali/ORA tort. I have 3 Cali/ORA torts and one Oregon in my tank. All three have different deep blue pigment, but the Oregon is the most uniform deep/pure blue color. So if your looking to buy a frag of this tort it pays to know who you're getting it from.

Don't know if this is absolutly true but I also heard the "TRUE" Oregon tort has a X-mas tree growth pattern.

Yes, I believe it is the true OBT. Travis from Upscales in Oregon sold that frag to me back in February. It is actually also the same as the 5th and 6th picture. 20" below a 250w DE Ushio 10k bulb.

Well..I don't know where it's from..but here is mine.It was a free Christmas present from a fellow reefer...nice guy!I never see it's polyps in the day.

Here it is at christmas.

It's starting to grow! And definately my favorite too!
