Maximus, that is pretty much what I do in my tank too. Except I do mount my frag mounts so the snails won't knock them over. I prefer to let my frags grow out a bit before I decide on a permanent placement. That way you know what they will look like long term so you know where they will look good and what corals will look good next to each other, ie. placing a green next to a pink and also next to a blue to enhance the aesthetic look of each coral. Kind of a way of creating art, IMO.
Just thought I would revive this thread. Here is mine when I got it a year ago. All SPS went down a few months ago but the tort is recuperating nicely with Kevinpo. Thanks BTW
dphinsx2 :thank you very much, its my first time post on RC but I mistake ,is it a blue tort? Igot it on Feb 2005 when travller in Hongkong, Originally its bule tip with green brown polyed, but under blv 10kk it lose neon blue and turnning purple tip. so I intending to change with phoenix, I will try
Well, here is a pic of mine. I got it from Jim at Rainbowcorals. Took the longest time to settle in (the fact that it got stung by a millipora didn't help either), but finally is growing at a good rate and maintaining a stunning color
I thought that the torts with the greenish base were Cali/ORA torts? I remember seeing pictures of the Becker tort and it had more of a lightish blue base with very little green. There should be pics on reeffarmer.com
