Potential purchases

Hi guys, first time posting but there seems to be a wealth of experience here. I am looking to make the move to saltwater fish in the next 6 months ( i tried to post on the new purchases thread but seemed closed so sorry if this should be somewhere else) so I have spent hours researching types of fish and their compatibility, density and pH levels which all seem similar. Bit less of a give on the density due to the Jawfish so these will be the ones to remove if it is too overloaded, but I wanted to know if this doable based on 3" max lengths with 4 inch filefish. The rest of the tank set up I will research separately but as a starting point so I know I am not wasting my time.

450 litre Jewel tank, 10sqf so from what I've read should hold 30 inches of fish.
1 Basslet royal gramma
2 Kaudern Cardinals
2 ocillaris clownfish
2 Radial Filefish
2 Yellowhead Jawfish

Total of 29 inches if they all grew to max size so I appreciate it is tight so will obviously add gradually. With an anenome and the appropiate live rocks and suggrogate for the jawfish. Am I missing something or can these all live together in harmony?

On paper it shouldn't be a problem as all placid and try to get the correct sex as much as possible with the various hiding spaces for the cardinals and Jawfish.

Thankyou for any help on this it is greatly appreciated.

First things first. Throw out the notion of inches per gallon. It doesn’t work in saltwater. 10 one inch fish would easily fit into a tank that 1 ten inch fish would not. Also a 4” wrasse doesn’t produce the waste that a 4” lionfish would. That stock list bioloadwise is fine. I don’t really know temperament wise though. Do you know the actual dimensions on the tank? That can help with fish suggestions if you are interested in more options. Also we will need to know if this will be a fish only set up or if you are interested in corals.

Thanks for that, I was hoping that was the case. The tank is 151cm wide , 64cm high, 61 cm deep so its a good size, I was considering Dragonets and/or Hawkfish on my original list but after reading I decided against due to the way some are caught. It seemed anything from Indonesia way you could run into moral and diet issues (is this the case?) Definitely hoping for coral as looks beautiful.

You can get captive bred mandarins. However, you need a large tank with a constant supply of pods. Flame hawk fish is one of the coolest fish I've ever kept.

With the jawfish, you might want to check out their requirements a bit more. I think they need a pretty deep sand bed to burrow in which might be problematic unless you really know what you're doing. I don't recommend people use over about an inch of sand if they're new. There's a lot of bad things that can happen with a deeper sand bed.

The Jawfish need around 4" so will definitely be the last fish to go in, been looking at some cleaners so will definitely take that into account.
