Potentially Genius Idea?

I'm leaving for Farmington Thursday and won't be back for a week. I'm quite concerned about my tank, especially an Alk swing. I dose baking soda and while worrying I had an idea (those don't come along too often for me :p). Could I use an automatic fish feeder to dose baking soda for me while I'm gone? Can anyone forsee any major problems with this?

I would only put in the feeder the TOTAL amount you would feel safe with going in all at one time as they're not the most reliable and I would imagine even less reliable using it for a something it was not designed for. Worth a shot but I would only put in there the max that your tank could handle should something go wrong.

I think it has definite potential. I even like the idea but I think I would want to run it at least a few days to see how it goes before leaving for a week. I considered a similar application for making kalk. Let us know if you do it and how it works Chelsey.

It might! It would depend on the type of feeder used and how high the humidty really was right at the feeder. That was why I would want to run it for a few days before I filled and left it. Lots of variables but still not a bad idea IMO.
