great to hear about the potters, they are difficult mostly due to the collection process they just don't take the stress like many other fish that seem unfazed by it .

thanks for the picture of the kuiteri wrasse ,i wish i could find one . i will be patent for now . i just got a blue spotted leopard wrasse yesterday and he has already matched up with my female . i just hope he gets through the next few weeks and i should be out of the woods . he actually ate cyclopeez and some pe-mysis so that's a good thing .

i have this potter leopard wrasse for more than 3 years. I did not QT the fish. it eats everything i put in the tank.

Thanks for sharing your experience on this type of fish. I opt for QTing because it's not a risk I am willing to take with a tank full of more than 40 fish and some close to irreplaceable. And even this round of QT has proven to be absolutely most beneficial as a very small Multibar Angel we picked up from LFS died in QT in less than a week. Its gills were pure white. We think it possibly has been caused by parasites and it bled out from prazi treatment.

The only fish I would ever consider not QTing are leopard wrasses. I QT everything else, but for these particular wrasses, I really do believe that is it more beneficial for their survival to either skip QT, or have a QT that is a DT in disguise. The more you move them and treat them etc, the worse their survival record seems to be. I have many priceless fish in my system, but I can say if I came across an ornate. choate, or kuiters leopard, I would put it straight into the DT, in hopes it would fair better than those I have put into my QT in the past.
